If you’ve ever wished you could buy a Bluetooth headset that offered both mono and stereo audio output (for use as a hands-free set and music playback), Bluetrek’s Duo Stereo might be just the thing for you.
The headset boasts a miniscule form factor so it won’t look like something massive has attached itself to your ear and aesthetically speaking, the Bluetrek is attractive to look at.
Using it as a mono device, you just need to stick the Duo in your ear, like other headsets. If however you want to listen to some tunes in stereo, you’ll need to hook up the USB to 3.5mm adapter and connect the supplied earphones. As Bluetrek has chosen to use a standard 3.5mm mini-jack, you can also connect your own set of cans if need be.
We doubt you’ll want to however because as a music playback headset, the Bluetrek is surprisingly punchy. It boasts SRS WOW HD support and when listening to tunes, we were blown away by how sharp music was.It also generates reasonable bass so there’s real life to what you’re listening to. As a handset for making and receiving calls, the Duo Stereo offers crystal clear voice quality and is convenient to use as well. It boasts an auto connect feature that will automatically establish a connection between itself and a paired phone the next time it is switched on. Convenient.
Verdict: Combines both mono and stereo functionality in a package that's sleek and very easy-to-use.
